With many enticing qualities, Botswana is probably best known for its incredible safaris in the Okavango Delta region and the Moremi Game Reserve, in particular. Not only does it have thriving local wildlife that visitors are invited to experience up close, but also has a wonderful selection of eco-friendly camps and lodges offering exciting activities and luxurious accommodations. A stable country with a long-standing democratic government and positive human rights record, Botswana is a safe destination for travellers. It’s worth keeping in mind that traditional, rural communities still have conservative attitudes towards public displays of affection. It applies to couples of any orientation – it’s best to be respectful towards this. In terms of the best time to visit, May through October is peak season when the weather is dry and warm during the day (22°C to 35°C), but nights tend to be chilly. November through April is the green season – nature is the most thriving during this time, but you should expect an odd shower here and there.

DAY 1

Arrive in Johannesburg, South Africa

Arrive in the biggest city in South Africa, Johannesburg. Upon arrival, a driver will take you to your hotel in the serene Sandhurst area of the city. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 2

Livingstone, Zambia | Sundowner River Cruise

This morning, after breakfast, you’ll fly to Zambia and check in to your luxurious tree house hotel, Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma. Before sunset, embark on a twilight cruise on the Zambezi River as you sip on refreshments and gape at the thriving landscape painted in sunset colours.

DAY 3

Livingstone | Design Your Day

Today you have a selection of activities to choose from! Go on a canoe trip on the Zambezi River to witness the buzzing wildlife in the tranquil setting or visit the Nakatindi Village to see how the locals live. You can also go for something a bit more adventurous, like the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park 2-hour long game drive on an open 4x4 vehicle to see rhinos, elephants, and buffalo up close. Enjoy lunch back at your lodge and spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying some of the wonderful amenities on offer.

DAY 4

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe | The Smoke That Thunders

In the morning, depart for Zimbabwe, where you will visit the impressive Victoria Falls with a private guide. Later, continue to Botswana and visit one of the best national parks in Southern Africa, the Chobe National Park. There you’ll check in to your lodge, offering commanding views of the surrounding riverside landscape. In the afternoon, go on a game drive or a river cruise to see the native wildlife in its natural habitat before enjoying the evening at leisure.

DAY 5

Chobe National Park, Botswana | Chobe River Safari

Continue discovering the Chobe National Park by getting up before sunrise to see how nature and wildlife wake along with the sun. Then go on a river safari to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and some of the hundreds of bird species that live and migrate here. Enjoy a gourmet dinner and your luxurious accommodation this evening under the starry African sky.

DAY 6-7

Okavango Delta | Wonders of a Private Reserve

On day six, fly to a private reserve in the Okavango Delta region, where you will spend two days filled with thrilling activities. In the afternoon, go on a mokoro (traditional canoe) ride or choose the nighttime game-viewing drive. The next day, after breakfast, you can choose between a guided bush walk to seek out the small wildlife inhabitants or go on a 4x4 game drive.

DAY 8

Okavango Delta | Predator Capital

This morning fly to the next safari camp, a region of the Delta, known as the predator capital of the world. You have a fantastic opportunity to see some of the most impressive wildlife safely up close – lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, buffalos, cheetahs, and spotted hyenas. With the help of the best guides, participate in game-watching activities or take it easy this evening and enjoy the beautiful African vistas from your private deck.

DAY 9

Okavango Delta | Remarkable Game Drives

Continue exploring the native wildlife on another exciting game drive, which gives a unique peek inside the vibrant wildlife drawn to the rich Okavango Delta region. After a day of game-watching, return to camp for a relaxing evening.

DAY 10

Depart Johannesburg, South Africa

In the morning, fly to Johannesburg, where you’ll board a flight home.
