Tanzania at a Glance

Located in East Africa, Tanzania is home to some of the most breathtaking landscapes and wildlife on the planet. From the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean to the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania is a place of unparalleled natural beauty. One of the main draws is the selection of world-renowned national parks offering a chance to see an incredible array of wildlife in their natural habitat. From luxury safari lodges and tented camps to exclusive beach resorts, there are many options for those seeking a lavish vacation experience. Activities such as hot air balloon rides, helicopter tours, and private game drives offer the opportunity to see the country’s breathtaking landscapes and wildlife from a unique perspective. The best time to travel to Tanzania depends on what you want to see and do while you’re there. To experience the Great Migration, the best time to visit is between December and June, when the animals move through the Serengeti National Park. This is also the dry season, so the weather is generally sunny and dry, making it easier to spot wildlife and enjoy outdoor activities. To enjoy the beaches and water sports, the best time to visit Tanzania is from June to October, when the weather is warm and sunny along the coast. Since that’s the rainy season, you may experience some afternoon thunderstorms. Tanzania is not considered a particularly LGBT-friendly travel destination. Homosexuality is illegal in Tanzania, and there is widespread discrimination against LGBT individuals in the country, but it mostly affects locals. It’s generally recommended to avoid any public displays of affection and to be cautious about disclosing your sexual orientation while in Tanzania.
