Each of the resort’s 5-star waterfront villas comes complete with a private pool and garden, with room service available from 11 on-site speciality restaurants and 3 bars. During your stay, take advantage of the full-service spa and gym, with mangrove tours departing from the lobby and golfing lessons available from El Camaleón Golf Club opposite. For unmanicured nature meanwhile, try biking out to the lagoons, beach and beyond.

3. Le Blanc Spa Resort (All Inclusive Adults Only), Cancun

Gay-friendly and adult-focused in the resort spot of Cancun is Le Blanc Spa Resort which goes above and beyond with a hands-on butler service. Have the staff unpack, draw a bath or fetch you a drink all while you lounge beside one of three pools, roam the private beach and 5-acre grounds, deciding on classic Italian or Japanese cuisine for dinner. By day, guests can run off to downtown Cancun (just 5 minutes away) or try the fitness centre and its full schedule of classes to finally earn a Kukulkan massage at the on-site spa. 5. Temptation Cancun Resort

A veritable playground for adults, Temptation Cancun Resort is one Mexico hotel your bad self won’t be able to resist. In line with its name, Temptation Cancun Resort is down to party, allowing everyone to go topless on the grounds, indulging in impromptu foam parties and drinking games around the pool. The stylish resort’s second pool also caters to the quieter guests with a swim-up bar and 7 hot tubs to mingle in. Located on the beachfront just a short ride from Cancun town centre, the hotel is well-placed for whatever, providing a full-service spa alongside its 7 restaurants and 6 bars, the latter coming alive with LGBTQ-themed fun during Pride Week in late July each year.

6. Hotel Mousai, Puerto Vallarta

One of the more exclusive properties on this list, the adults-only Hotel Mousai in Puerto Vallarta keeps things classy across its 74 contemporary suites, each of which offer coastal vistas just a 10-minute uphill walk from the beach. To get the best views, head to Hotel Mousai’s rooftop infinity pool or the on-site Imagine Spa and gym, moving back to the rooftop come sundown for live music, DJ sets and nightly entertainment. Stay active by day on the tennis court, or opt for hiking excursions, kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkelling in the vicinity. Though guests can drive to Puerto Vallarta main square in just 10 minutes, the boat ride from Los Arcos is rather more fun, especially at sunset.
